Exclusive Christie's Private View of Work by Dylan Lewis in Aid of our Work

A Private View by invitation of The Lord Vestey has been organised by the Guild of the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital.  This will take place on Tuesday the 14th June 2011 at Christie's South Kensington between 6.30pm and 9pm.  Tickets will cost £50 each, with the possibility of the lucky ticket number winning either a limited edition, hard-bound book of the "Forces of Nature" by Dylan Lewis or a bronze maquette by contemporary sculptor, Stella Shawzin.   The Guild are most appreciative of these two fund-raising donations which will be drawn on the Preview evening.

The exhibition will be of a series of animalier bronzes executed by Lewis between 1990 and 2005.  The works, "Predators and Prey 11" will be auctioned by Christie's on the 16th June 2011

Guests will have the opportunity to view 58  of these incredible bronzes, including beautiful sculptures of running cheetahs, birds, and leopards.  They will be overawed at the bulk and size of the endangered white rhino and will feel the evocative pull of the African wilderness and hear the call of the fish eagle and the roar of the hunting lioness.
