Dr. Kamal Okasha has been presented with the Hospital Group’s Magauran Cup – awarded to the doctor within the Group who has contributed most to its medical services – for his work at our Gaza Clinic.
In a ceremony held in the Jerusalem Hospital’s Cloisters on Friday, 23rd September, and attended by new Chairman Philip Hardaker, Dr. Okasha was presented with the cup by Trustee and Medical Advisor Nick Astbury. The annual prize was inaugurated by Denise Magauran, former Chief Surgeon at the Hospital Group, in 2005.
Dr. Okasha took over as Clinical Director at the Gaza satellite in January of this year and, within days of his appointment, had transformed the previously run down Clinic into a clean and vibrant department in which the staff were bursting with optimism for the future.
Since then, record attendances have more than justified his appointment. By the end of August this year, 15,052 patients had been seen in Gaza, compared to 12,992 at the same time last year.
We send congratulations to Dr. Okasha, and to all at the Gaza Clinic.
