UAE Provide New Outreach Vehicle for West Bank

Thanks to the generosity of Abraaj Capital, the biggest private equity group in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, The St John Eye Hospital Group has been able to purchase a new vehicle for our mobile outreach programme.  The new van replaces the depreciated existing vehicle and will allow us to continue to take poverty-relieving eye care out to the most isolated and impoverished communities in the OPT.

The van is a brand new  Volkswagen Transporter 5, equipped with a medium high roof that allows space for transporting  medical equipment, as well as our team of staff.   It will be in operation for many years to come, and we extend our warmest appreciation to United Arab Emirates based Abraaj Capital for the wonderful donation of £59,000 that allowed us to buy this much-needed vehicle outright. 

Our Mobile Outreach Clinics operate throughout the West Bank.  It is our mission with this project to ensure that ordinary people are able to access our services regardless of where they live and the movement restrictions placed upon them.
