The St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group is very pleased to be able to announce that, in 2010, we saw and treated more patients than ever before in our history.
For the first time ever, we treated 102,382 patients across Gaza and the West Bank, which is an increase of 10,000 on our 2009 figures. We performed 4,184 major, sight-saving operations in 2010 and 34,238 of the patients we treated were under the age of 18.
Total figures for each of our centres are:
Jerusalem Hospital: 45,842
HebronHospital: 13,878
GazaClinic: 19,466
Anabta Centre: 13,753
Oureach Clinics: 9,443
We would like to thank all of our supporters – both long established and new – for your encouragement, sponsorship and advocacy.
Thank you also to all of our hard-working staff, who – lest we forget – must carry on their working-lives in, historically, the most troubled region anywhere in the world.
I’m sure you’ll agree that these figures speak for themselves. Let’s hope 2011 only gets better. Happy New Year!
